What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a seasoned leader to join our Private Banking team as Area Vice President, Financing. As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive business performance, support our Private Banking business and deliver exceptional service to our highest-valued clients.
With a strong strategic mindset, you will oversee a team of Manager, Credit Structures, manage the end-to-end credit journey, and execute the strategic direction for Private Banking.
What will you do?
- Be a ONE RBC leader and integrator responsible for developing innovative structures that meet and exceed the needs of Private Banking clients.
- Lead a team of Managers Credit Structures, responsible for contributing to Private Banking volume and revenue growth by delivering strong credit advice and efficient portfolio quality reporting.
- Lead a team that is the Centre of Expertise for credit structuring and underwriting, developing client-focused solutions that places RBC in a winning position against the competition and is the primary liaison with Group Risk to ensure that credit applications are well structured, approved and funded within acceptable time frames.
- Coach and influence your team to deliver credit solutions to meet or exceed client needs and proactively identify additional opportunities to grow products / services.
- Develop expertise in geographic sector and/or specialized market segments in order to contribute to the acquisition of new clients to RBC.
- Drive operational effectiveness by ensuring Private Banking achieve benchmark levels of delinquency, expired credits and out of orders through efficient portfolio quality management routines, adhering to RBC credit policies and procedures.
- Support capability development to ensure employees have the knowledge and ability to execute the change and follow-up frequently to reinforce adoption
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance or other relevant discipline
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in providing advice and credit solutions to high-net-worth clients in personal and commercial banking.
- Sound understanding of Personal and Commercial Credit
- Strong quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical skills, as well as an ability to analyze company financial statements.
- Ability to deliver optimal client care, accurately defining problems and resolution
- Excellent Facilitation, Communication, Presentation and Skills
- Proven leadership capabilities in a leadership role
- Excellent Relationship Building/Interpersonal Skills
- Growth mindset
Nice-have
- One of the Professional designations of as CFA, CPA, Masters in relevant discipline
- Knowledge of wealth credit solutions such as complex real estate financing, leveraging and wealth preservation strategies
