Applications Program Manager

Role Summary As part of our overall investment and growth strategy in the UK we are hiring an Application Program Manager to join our team.

- The Applications Program Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex application programs across enterprise environments. This role involves managing program plans, budgets, teams, and vendor relationships while driving governance and adherence to Agile and DevOps practices to ensure high-quality outcomes aligned with business goals.

- Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of assignments, including digital transformation, application modernization, and enterprise delivery programs across diverse sectors such as Public Sector, Health, Finance, Energy, Transport, Retail, and Manufacturing.

- You’ll thrive using Agile delivery methods and enjoy working collaboratively with business stakeholders, technology teams, and multidisciplinary delivery units.

- You’ll play a key role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives that drive innovation and operational excellence

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Program Management & Execution

• Manage and execute detailed program plans, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.

• Track and report program progress, risks, and key performance indicators to stakeholders and leadership.

• Ensure program scope is clearly defined, understood, and adhered to throughout the lifecycle.

Team Leader ship

• Lead and mentor a team of project managers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, manage expectations, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

• Provide clear and consistent communication across all levels of the organization

Agile & DevOps Enablement

• Promote Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, monitoring) across delivery teams.

• Integrate Agile and DevOps principles into program governance and execution models.

Financial & Vendor Oversight

• Oversee program budgets, resource allocation, and financial tracking.

• Manage vendor relationships for outsourced components, ensuring quality and contractual compliance

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for delivery and operational improvements and lead their implementation.

• Encourage innovation and adoption of best practices across programs

Client Collaboration & O n-Site Engagement

• Work on-site with clients an average of two days per week to support delivery execution and relationship management.

• Build trusted partnerships and ensure alignment with client expectations and strategic goals.

Skills Required:

• Proven experience in complex program and project management across large-scale enterprise environments.

• Strong proficiencies in program planning, execution, leadership, and stakeholder engagement.

• Significant experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and DevOps tools and practices.

• Ability to manage budgets, risks, and vendor relationships effectively.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• A continuous learner who stays current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Typically 8+ years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 3+ years in a similar program management role.

Desirable Qualifications:

• An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus.

• Certifications in Project and Program Management (e.g., APM PMQ (Project Management Qualification) APM PPQ (Project Professional Qualification), PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP (Program Management Professional), or equivalent.

• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).

• Agile certification
