Position Summary

The APAC Supply Network Planning Leader (L5B) is a critical, strategic role responsible for the end-to-end synchronization and agility of the supply chain across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) network. This role transcends daily execution to focus on defining and governing the optimal supply network design and operating model to achieve world-class cash, service while minimizing total cost.

The Leader will drive breakthrough improvements in supply network performance by establishing a planning hubs strategy for each APAC market, defining Operating Strategies between Categories and APAC Markets, and leading initiatives to significantly reduce manufacturing production cycles, weighted average order lead times, order cancellation lead times, and transit times. The role requires deep technical mastery in planning systems (SAP APO/S/4 HANA) to ensure robust system compliance, effective deployment of new tools, and leveraging data for strategic network decisions.

Key Responsibilities

I. Strategic Network Design & Governance (Agility & Synchronization)

·       Supply Network Operating Strategy: Define, align, and govern the strategic rules and operating model between APAC Markets, Manufacturing Sites, and Supply Categories to optimize flow to deliver cash, cost, and service.

·       Planning Hub Strategy: Establish the strategic framework for localized planning hubs across APAC markets, ensuring demand forecasting and inventory planning are aligned with market-specific needs and cost objectives.

·       Continuous Improvement (Agility PDCA): Drive a culture of continuous improvement, tracking Agility KPIs and utilizing the Agility PDCA framework to embed best practices and sustain network performance gains.

II. Lead Time & Cost Optimization

·       Manufacturing & Cycle Reduction: Collaborate with production and procurement teams to identify, implement, and track strategies that reduce manufacturing production cycles (Days Before Next Run - DBNR), driving cost-effective agility.

·       End-to-End Lead Time Reduction: Strategically analyse and optimize order lead times, cancellation times, and transit times (in collaboration with logistics) to achieve service excellence and reduce working capital.

·       Inventory Management & Value: Drive substantial inventory reduction, achieving the target of >10% Year-over-Year (YOY) by managing optimal stock cover and minimizing obsolescence/write-offs across the network.

III. System-Based Planning Mastery & Deployment

·       System Compliance & Optimization: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all APAC planning system issues. Ensure end-to-end SAP APO and S/4 HANA planning compliance, continuous system calibration, hygiene checks, and configuration for desired business outputs.

·       Distribution Planning Oversight (DRP): Govern the execution of Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP), monitoring the 18-month rolling shipment plan for all products (Local/Imported), and coordinating stock transfers (STOs) to maintain optimal stock levels across all network nodes.

·       Digital Deployment: Lead the deployment of new advanced planning tools and systems, maximizing the utilization and effectiveness of the existing planning technology landscape.

·       >10% Year-on-Year Inventory Reduction

·       E2E cost optimization – source to final WH

·       Driving SKU rationalization via portfolio optimization.

·       Leading projects to drive localization to deliver more agility to service and cash / cost saving to the business.

·       Drive CFR and SMBC improvement initiatives

·       Year-on-year reduction in SLOB, provision and write-off

·       Operational Agility: Continuous reduction in Days Before Next Run (DBNR), Weighted Average Order Leadtime, Order Cancellation Leadtime, and Transit Time.

·       Strategic Implementation: Increased % Volume shipped from Planning Hub.

·       System Health Maintenance of robust system hygiene and compliance within planning platforms.

Qualifications

Hard Skills

·       Supply Chain Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in Supply Network Planning (SNP), Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP), and Production/Inventory Planning, preferably within the FMCG.

·       Technical Planning Mastery: Subject Matter Expert in advanced planning software, specifically SAP APO (DP/SNP) and/or ECC planning systems. Proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI)/BW and data visualization tools (Power BI).

·       Education: Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business. APICS CPIM / CSCP certification or equivalent is highly desirable.

·       Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to define strategic operating models, drive complex projects, and lead change management across regional and cross-functional teams.

·       Results & Action: A strong track record of driving tangible results and achieving aggressive performance targets in a high-complexity network.

·       Collaboration: Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills, with the ability to act as the single point of contact (SPOC) between International Supply Centres, Demand teams, and the Market.

·       Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical, organizational, and complex decision-making skills required to manage inventory, cost, and service trade-offs.
