The Opportunity
'FICO’s Asia Pacific Business Development Director for Scores is the definitive source of knowledge, technique, and expertise in the strategic application of analytics and scores innovations for global markets. The APBDD uses their expertise to lead others and develop new business opportunities in the global financial services industry through strategic partners (private and public), alliances and direct client relationships, and applies their expertise to achieve FICO’s strategic and revenue objectives across multiple Asia Pacific markets.' - Credit Bureau - Sr Director
What You'll Do
- Ongoing development and execution of global market strategy to grow bureau and direct scoring revenue to achieve and exceed targets within the Asia Pacific region.
- Serves as a senior relationship executive for bureau and client accounts and ensures client satisfaction.
- Manages distributor relationships with Credit Bureaus in Asia Pacific markets with the goal of expanding solution offerings, adoption and volume usage.
- Develops strategic proposals, leads business case development with the participation of key product, technical, SME and other resources, defining the client need, creating the financial justification, and outlining a solution designed to deliver tangible and significant value to the client.
- Works within established corporate practices to lead proposal generation, deal shape, deal staffing and negotiation efforts, including internal signoffs, funnel updates, and client follow ups and closings.
- Maintains a strong personal base of knowledge with respect to financial performance, credit bureau and client data, scoring, industry practices, trends and issues.
- Maintains knowledge of global regulations related to credit bureaus operations, upcoming and planned changes influencing FICO scoring revenue and sales pipeline.
- Manages relationships with global credit bureau infrastructure institutions, such as professional unions, associations etc., including creation of opportunities to promote FICO scoring approach.
- This role provides strategic collaboration to other functional groups including Product Delivery, Product Management and Product Development.
What We're Seeking
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience. Educational background in mathematics or statistics or equivalent preferred.
- Extensive experience in business development, strategy development strategic and partner management in multiple national markets.
- Extensive experience selling analytic solutions in multiple international markets to the financial services industry using a consultative sales approach.
- Experience working for a developed credit bureau.
- Experience with Alternate Scoring Solutions.
- Ability to conduct business discussions in English; additional languages is a plus
- Excellent communications, financial analysis, writing and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of scoring and decision management technology as well as the financial impact of scoring solutions, analytic methodologies, and business processes involved in credit risk management.
- Experience crafting a compelling and comprehensive client business plan. Demonstrated ability to propose, sell, and follow through to deliver agreements for signature.
- Experience creating teaming relationships and 3rd party alliances. Proven ability to deliver financial results and outstanding client satisfaction.
- Ability to travel (25-30%).
- Ability to understand and apply legal terms and meaning of legal agreements and laws and regulations.
- Ability to understand and apply financial accounting rules as they apply to revenue recognition and commercial terms.
- Ability and experience in explaining scoring concepts to non-technical audiences, including public speaking to audiences.
