Your role at Baxter

As a healthcare company, Baxter needs to align with laws and regulations concerning our interactions with healthcare professionals and organizations. This role supports the efforts through the application of Baxter’s Global interactions Policy (GIP) and reporting through the Engage system. We ensure accurate and complete reporting of payments made by Baxter to the medical community for all US and Canadian transaction processes for transfer of value reporting and compliance with the GIP. The team works with Baxter business teams in training, monitoring, and controlling these transactions across the US and Canada. Our role includes coordinating data reviews, improving processes, making system recommendations for US and Canadian transparency reports.

Team ensures policies, processes, and systems align with legal requirements, including Federal Physician Payment Act. Additional responsibilities include the development, update and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. The team works closely with members of Baxter’s finance, legal, ethics and compliance and regulatory law teams.

What you'll be doing

  • Serve as subject matter authority in compliance with the Global Interactions Policy (GIP), the Engage tool and related policies

  • Assist in educating internal staff and service providers on GIP documentation, related processes, and system

  • Assist and guide business partners with pre-approvals, contracts, vendor creations, and payment requests related to Baxter’s interactions with the medical community

  • Review all types of Engage requests, contracts and service agreements for accuracy and compliance to policy when required

  • Proactively handle compliance issues and call out to the Ethics and Compliance, Finance or Legal teams when needed

  • Work closely with global business units and franchise functional areas on accurately categorizing and documenting transactions with the medical community

  • Assist with annual CMS transparency reporting as well as state reporting when appropriate

  • Subject Matter Authority for building, revising, managing, and acting as a liaison for all Engage Operations systems and platforms including SharePoint and Engage

  • Identification and implement process improvement initiatives

  • Update and Develop Standard Operating Policy and Desktop Procedures

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting

  • 2 years of experience in finance, large public company experience, internal control, S-Ox

  • Experience in external audits (Big 4: PWC, EY, Deloitte, KPMG) preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • English level: B2-B2+

  • Outstanding attention to detail, strong process orientation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to carry out policies, process, and system requirements

  • Project management and prior experience with process improvement projects desirable

  • Preferred knowledge of ERP systems and VMD
