What we are looking for:

A curious and hard-working individual that is passionate about equity investing with a long-term horizon. The incumbent will work with the Canadian Equities Small Cap team, assisting in the analysis and follow-up of Canadian companies and in the development of financial models for various small cap mandates. In a reasonable time frame, the candidate will have the opportunity to assume the role of lead analyst on small cap investments across a diverse variety of sectors.

Your responsibilities:

Conduct fundamental research including financial analysis and valuation models on specific companies and industries
Synthesize multiple sources of information including company financial statements, industry conferences, sell side analysts, experienced colleagues and senior management of companies into concise written and verbal communications
Present investment conclusions to the portfolio manager consistent with the philosophy and investment style of the team
Recommend highest conviction investment ideas on assigned companies for our Canadian small cap strategies

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

2-5 years of experience in fundamental equity analysis
Demonstrated history of excellent analytical and financial skills
Ability to analyze companies with value and growth characteristics
Undergraduate or master’s degree in business, Engineering or other related field
CFA Charter holder or CFA candidate having completed the Level I designation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Results oriented and ability to adapt to changes in priorities and timelines
Innovative, proactive and ability to work independently and as a team player.
Methodical and resourceful with excellent attention to detail
