Overview:

The AI Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging business objectives with advanced AI and digital transformation initiatives within highly regulated financial environments. This position is responsible for eliciting and documenting business and technical requirements, conducting feasibility and value analyses, and supporting comprehensive testing and user acceptance processes for AI-driven solutions. The successful candidate will ensure solutions deliver measurable value while complying with stringent industry regulations and risk standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements & Analysis

  • Gather and document detailed business and functional requirements for AI solutions, focusing on regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

  • Create and maintain process maps, user stories, and acceptance criteria tailored for financial operations such as payments, KYC/onboarding, AML, lending, and regulatory reporting.

  • Conduct value, risk, and feasibility assessments aligned with industry best practices, ensuring alignment with internal controls and external regulatory expectations.

Testing & Readiness

Develop and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) plans, including traceability matrices and sign-off documentation, to validate solutions meet business and regulatory requirements.

Perform change impact assessments and facilitate communication of test results and readiness to stakeholders across business, compliance, and technology teams.

Stakeholder Bridge

Serve as a liaison between business units, compliance, risk management, and technical teams to ensure clear understanding and alignment of project goals.

Maintain a well-defined product backlog, prioritizing features and enhancements based on regulatory deadlines, business value, and risk considerations.

Champion the adoption of AI solutions by facilitating training, documentation, and change management activities tailored to financial services stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of business analysis experience on analytics or AI projects within the financial services sector.

  • Strong process modeling skills (e.g., BPMN, UML), with a focus on regulatory and risk-sensitive processes.

  • Proven ability to manage and interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable technical deliverables.

  • Excellent communication skills, with experience facilitating cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.

Preferred

  • In-depth knowledge of financial services operations, including payments, customer onboarding/KYC, AML case management, lending, and regulatory reporting.

  • Experience working with AI/ML solutions in regulated environments (e.g., model risk management, explainability, data privacy).

  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., FFIEC, FINRA, OCC, CFPB) and regulatory frameworks such as BSA/AML, GDPR, or CCPA.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CAMS, PMP, Agile/Scrum).

Success Metrics

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver business analysis outcomes that meet project objectives within agreed timelines and budget.

  • Effective translation of complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable deliverables that facilitate compliance and risk mitigation.

  • Successful facilitation of cross-functional collaboration, resulting in consensus among stakeholders and alignment on project goals.

  • Documented improvements in process efficiency, regulatory adherence, or risk management as a direct result of analysis and recommendations.

  • Positive feedback from executive stakeholders and project team members regarding communication, leadership, and technical contributions.

Other Qualifications: 

  • As per MUFG’s work policy for all personnel, candidates must work onsite for 4 days and 1 day remotely out of either Jersey City, NJ, Tampa, FL or Tempe, AZ office.

  • The typical base pay range for this role is between $65K - $100K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
