What You’ll Do
Analyze business processes, key data metrics, and costs/benefits to estimate the economic impact of operational decisions and provide recommendations.
Communicate with various business areas to support and explain existing models, provide advanced analysis, and identify opportunities for the application of new models and processes to improve effectiveness and business outcomes.
Identify data sources, build necessary data queries using SQL/ETL queries, and verify data quality.
Apply data science tools and various statistical techniques such as regression, decision trees and neural networks to build, validate, and implement models for solving business problems.
Monitor existing models and processes to ensure performance and data quality.
Manage multiple modeling and statistical projects, including timelines, personnel, and communication with project sponsors.
What It Takes
Masters Degree or equivalent work experience.
PhD or Masters in applied math, statistics, operations research, economics, finance, or related quantitative field preferred.
Minimum 2 years-5 years of related work experience preferred.
Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels.
Demonstrated proficiency in statistical software tools such as Python, R, or SAS.
Advanced knowledge of data extraction, validation, and practical application of statistical modeling techniques.
