An Administrative Technician job is available with the City of Fort Worth CCPD Partners Administration. This position will contribute to the City’s strategic goals, mission and vision by providing professional support to both general employees and sworn police officers at all levels of the Support Services Division. This division is responsible for providing support services that focus on crime prevention and building trust and legitimacy with the community.  Programs and Units include volunteer, citizen education, clergy and youth programs as well as the Community Engagement and Wellness Unit. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Office Administration or related field.
  • Two (2) years of clerical and administrative experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher levels of clerical experience as it relates to this vacancy
  • Intermediate proficient in Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with sworn civil service and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization coupled with the ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality at all times

The Administrative Technician job responsibilities include:

  • Assist with researching, data tracking, reporting, and monitoring the status and flow of internal processes.
  • Respond to and resolve inquiries from internal customers and citizens or direct them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide staff support to the Building Standards Division, including serving as a backup for various staff positions in their absence.
  • Perform a wide variety of clerical, fiscal, and administrative tasks to support staff and management personnel in the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Provides administrative assistance to staff by preparing documents, scheduling meetings, and screening clients and phone calls. Maintains appointment calendars, prepare travel documents, employee travel reimbursement requests and conference registrations.
  • Receives and applies payments and fees. Compiles fiscal, statistical and related program reports. Calculates financial data, balances books, updates account and provides program expenditures and available balances. Updates and inputs record and documents and maintains files.
  • Participates in special projects, providing input as needed.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

 

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.  Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position:  Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
