Job Summary: The Administrative Fellow will participate in a system-wide 24-month post-graduate fellowship that will train and educate future health care leaders and offer high level exposure to the day-to-day operations of a multi-campus, community based, non-profit system. The fellow will have the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of the operations, finance, quality and strategic development of a rapidly evolving health system and will be responsible for assisting executive management in a variety of organizational business environments inclusive of strategic planning and business development throughout the health care system.

Minimum Education: Master's degree from a Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), or the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited program.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: A valid driver's license and a Motor Vehicle Report that meets SFHS guidelines are required.

Work Experience: 0 - 3 years related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively. Advanced decision-making, multitasking and organizational skills easily navigating effectively in a business environment. Ability to formulate solutions and implement resolution processes. Strong written, verbal, analytical and presentation skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to integrate the analysis of data to discover facts or develop knowledge, concepts, or interpretations. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Gains knowledge and experience in a variety of organizational business environments inclusive of strategic planning and business development. This may include areas such as legal services, regionalization, construction management, financial services/decision support, information services, case management, hospitalist, hospital rotations at multiple locations, home health, durable medical equipment, primary care and specialty physician offices, and managed health care plans. The fellow will complete rotations through hospital, ambulatory and corporate functions where they will be an active member of the leadership team and be required to complete meaningful projects to further the ministry. Partners with experienced staff in developing, planning, organizing, and implementing business strategies while building strong professional relationships and establishing a collaborative rapport. Learns service lines and staff functions, operations, management viewpoints and company policies and practices that affect each phase of health system operations. Manages projects as assigned; conducts research, creates action plans, evaluates outcomes, establishes goals, extracts data and communicates progress to the executive leadership team.

Decision Making: The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from supervisor.

Working Relationship: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise). Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal/external customers. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at director level or above.

Special Job Dimensions: Travel may be required.
