Job Description

This position is located in the Environmental Complaints & Local Services Division - Onsite & TRL Section.

All applicants must be able to pass a background check and must be able to legally work within the United States. DEQ does not allow sponsorships for the H-1B Visas.

Basic Purpose

Utilize the EMS to document compliance and/or enforcement for installer, profiler and pumper programs. Review, maintain and update training material associated with installer, profiler and pumper programs. Communicate with DEQ staff and citizens agency rules and certification of licensing procedure and requirements.

Typical Functions

The functions performed in this job family will vary by level, unit and organization, but may include the following:

  • Enter into the database and upload into OnBase the assigned documents submitted by the local DEQ offices (All local offices will be scanning their completed documents (576s, 581s, ATCs, reviews/reports, etc.) to OKC-ECLS office.
  • Process all Requested Services and Alternative Application Packets. This position will be back-up for permits and will process all requests two days per week.
  • Serve as back-up for the processing of all new and renewal applications for septic installers and septage pumpers.

Travel Requirements

The position may require some travel for training or meetings. 

Education and Experience

Level I: bachelor’s degree or four years of technical clerical, administrative, secretarial, or general office work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

  • The employee must be capable of proficiently using standard software (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access). The employee will be expected to participate in training in those areas deemed important for performing the job or to enhance work performance.
  • The employee must have the temperament to remain calm when faced with conflict or difficult situations and must be capable of effectively and politely communicating, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers and customers.
