Executive Summary
Role Title: Actuarial Analyst

Purpose of this role
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Athora Reinsurance Operations team and will work closely with key stakeholders and various teams within Athora. The team covers a diverse range of areas, including monitoring and validating reinsurance collateral requirements and claims, onboarding new reinsurance transactions, and providing insight to management on the performance and risks of our reinsurance exposures. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their quantitative, analytical and IT skills in a fast changing, cutting edge and challenging environment.

Key Contribution Areas

  • Responsible for monitoring collateral framework agreements and communicating final results to stakeholders.

  • Responsible for monitoring of reinsurance claims and premiums and communicating final results to stakeholders.

  • Developing and enhancing and maintaining collateral and claims/premium validation tools in order to improve efficiency and final outcomes.

  • Reviewing and supporting production of management information on existing business.

  • Enhancing analysis of management information on existing business and presenting final results to senior management.  

  • Supporting the design of processes for new business and changes to existing business.

  • Supporting in the onboarding of new business.

  • Completing analysis of asset performance over reporting periods and providing detailed commentary on key drivers to stakeholders.

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skill Required

  • A graduate of an actuarial degree with up to 2 years of experience in the life insurance or reinsurance market and with a keen interest in developing expertise in both actuarial methods and investments

  • Microsoft Office experience strongly preferred

  • Sequel skills highly beneficial
