About the Team

This role would be part of a 50+ person sales team responsible for the commercial growth of GSMA Limited; selling across the flagship events; MWC Barcelona, Shanghai, Kigali, Las Vegas, Doha as well as our M360 series and 4YFN events, Media, Intelligence and Services platforms. The team spans offices in Europe, Asia, China and the Americas with a collaborative, supportive and vibrant atmosphere. This specific role will be part of the sales team that serves MWC Barcelona and GSMA’s U.S. events.

About the Role

GSMA is seeking to play a pivotal role in growing revenues and managing demand as our events grow within the Americas region. The primary responsibilities of this position include driving exhibition, sponsorship, and advertising sales through various channels. This involves sourcing leads not only from existing portfolios but also through proactive prospecting tactics via social media, news publications, and competitive events.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and nurturing business relationships with both current and potential clientele, ensuring the event meets their requirements and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction. The role also entails conducting client calls, prospecting through phone sales, and organizing face-to-face meetings when appropriate.

Overall, this position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the continued success and growth of GSMA global events through strategic sales and account management initiatives.

International travel is required for this role and there is a requirement to collaborate with the U.S. team twice per week in the Atlanta office.

About You

  • Minimum of four years’ sales experience ideally in conference & exhibition sales

  • Commercially minded with initiative and a hunger for new business

  • Ability to manage, develop and deliver multiple sales campaigns simultaneously

  • Proven track record of sales & account management, meeting and exceeding targets

  • Proven success in managing the full sales cycle from planning to closing deals

  • Ability to offer a first-class, professional sales and account management service to commercial partners and to build strong business relationships at all levels

  • Ideally experienced in selling events and/or services in the connectivity/telco/IT sector

  • Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Proactive approach to identifying opportunities, generating leads and producing sales presentations

  • Familiar with Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator

  • Excellent phone manner & written skills

  • A can-do attitude and great team player
