Why does this job exist and why is it critical?​

The Account Manager – Eastern Postpaid is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of high-value postpaid accounts within the Eastern region, ensuring customer satisfaction and achieving sales targets for Maxis Mobile.

What are you accountable for?

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with assigned key postpaid customers in the Eastern region.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts to increase revenue and market share.

  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis and translate them into suitable Maxis Mobile solutions.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., technical support, marketing, product development) to ensure timely and successful delivery of Maxis Mobile solutions according to customer needs and objectives.

  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to customers.

  • Negotiate and close sales agreements, ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies.

  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify areas for improvement and growth.

  • Provide regular reports on account status, sales forecasts, and market intelligence to management.

  • Resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently and effectively to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Stay up to date with Maxis Mobile's product and service offerings, as well as industry developments.

What do you need to have for the role?

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of proven account management or sales experience in the telecommunications industry, preferably within postpaid mobile services.

  • Strong understanding of the Eastern Malaysian market and customer base.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

  • Results-oriented with a strong track record of achieving sales targets.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently within the Eastern region.

  • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in local dialects would be an added advantage.

Skills / Knowledge :

  • Proficient in Microsoft, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Good written, oral and interpersonal skills.

  • Good research, analytical, planning and organizational skills.

  • To have an acute sense of business savvy and able to motivate, manage & develop strong partners (business dealers).

  • Result oriented with the drive to exceed sales target.

  • Good interpersonal & presentation skills with strong client orientation.

  • Ability to perform under pressure in a challenging environment and work independently with minimum supervision.

  • Personal traits: Positive, Passionate, Collaborative, a candid team player who collaborates with peers to solve problems.

  • Confident and professional in representing the company in person and writing.
