Takeda’s QCP & PMX is an integral part of the broader Quantitative Pharmacology & Translational Sciences organization within the R&D Data and Quantitative Sciences unit. The mission of QCP and PMX is to globally advance therapeutics by finding the right dose for the right patients with a purpose of maximizing benefit over risk. The model-based meta-analysis (MBMA) is crucial to enhance decision-making in the clinical development of multiple internal assets within Takeda’s Oncology therapeutic area.
In this role, the QCP & PMX intern will establish a MBMA framework for predicting long-term outcomes (OS/PFS) from the short-term endpoints (ORR, CR, PR etc.) to support early go/no-go decisions and improve future clinical trial designs.
How You Will Contribute:
Duties will include the following, under the manager's supervision
Literature review: Latest publications & MBMA methodology.
Building a comprehensive database for conducting hands-on analyses.
Model building (link short-term endpoints to PFS/OS) and validation.
Conducting head-to-head clinical trial simulations.
Benchmarking Takeda’s internal assets against SoC/external competitors in early development and inform clinical development plan within the oncology space.

Job Requirements:
This position will be hybrid in the Cambridge office.
The candidate must be pursuing a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacometrics, Biostatistics, or another relevant field.
Demonstrate an understanding of basic concepts in PK/PD and biostatistics.
Be acquainted with standard techniques of model building, validation, and simulations.
Experience in using R/Rstudio software is a plus.
Be motivated to conduct hands-on analyses in the context of clinical drug development with the ultimate goal of bringing back useful insights into the drug-development teams who do not have this kind of background.
Internship Eligibility
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later
The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)
The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
