CIBC’s Summer Internship Program is a dynamic, 10-week experience (June through August) designed to complement your academic training and support your career aspirations. Centered around the core theme of Learn, Connect, Grow, the program offers a comprehensive blend of opportunities to expand your skills and professional network.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working 40 hours per week in the office alongside a seasoned equity research professional.
  • Learning the basics of equity investment research and portfolio management.
  • Researching multiple public companies, including reading SEC filings, sell side reports, industry research, and web-based research.  Writing a detailed investment report and preparing a financial model of one or more public companies. 
  • Learning the basics of the industry that your host analyst covers
  • Listening to and summarizing earnings conference calls of public companies.
  • Learning how to use Factset to assist in the investment research.
  • Attending weekly learning sessions with other investment interns.
  • Participating in meetings with public company executives and sell side analysts.

Who You Are 

  • 3.2 GPA minimum 
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or a related field, with an expected graduation between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Demonstrated interest in equity research and investing via investment clubs, classwork, and/or self-learning
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office--Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Enthusiastic to learn by proactively asking questions
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask

    At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected hourly rate of $25.00 per hour for the State of Wisconsin market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
