Job Summary

Intern candidates will be supporting a distributed automated platform for compute, network, and storage infrastructure by providing custom automation services for feature deployment in a large high-performance environment leveraging both cloud and traditional data center technologies.

Note: This position will be filled as “Onsite” at the Raytheon Facility located in Richardson TX.

What You Will Do:

Support infrastructure/DevOps build and automation activities utilizing programming/scripting skills (Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell, and Java) and continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Provide basic support in the development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment, or subsystem level), external and internal interfaces, and other systems engineering work products/artifacts.
  • Integrate multiple software and hardware subsystems.
  • Apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to solve problems.


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent (STEM) and will be at minimum Junior, Senior or Post Grad year by summer 2026.

  • Ability to apply basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Ability to develop solutions to routine technical problems.
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.  U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience and understanding of programming concepts and development/scripting skills using Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell, Java with the ability to pick up any language quickly.
  • Experience with Cloud APIs – AWS, Rackspace, OpenStack
  • Experience with Chef Configuration Management tool.
  • Understanding or knowledge of DevOps processes. 
  • Knowledge of automation (pipeline is a plus)
  • Knowledge of Ansible is also preferred.
  • Exposure to integration of software and hardware subsystems
  • Exposure to security engineering concepts and practices
  • Exposure to the software development life cycle
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired. (Please upload a copy of your most recent transcripts).

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
