Who we are looking for
We are looking for a motivated starter to join State Street’s Financing Solutions (FS) division. The department encompasses three products: Agency Lending, Prime Services and Secured Financing (Repo). These products allow State Street clients to generate income, facilitate short sales or generate financing through the lending and borrowing of Securities. The Agency Lending product is a long-established business and State Street is considered an industry leader in this space. The Prime Services and Repo products have been more recently established and are among the fastest growing products at State Street.
What you will be responsible for
As a business management intern, you will be responsible for supporting the EMEA Head of Financing Solutions in implementing & developing product strategy across the 3 business lines, managing the impact of regulatory change and providing business solutions to the evolving industry.

In this role, you will perform the following day-to-day activities
Produce meeting materials to a high standard
Gather materials and carry out data analysis
Work and build relationships with key internal stakeholders
Arrange and host meetings with a variety of audiences
Program dates: 22nd June 2026 – 21st June 2027
You must be available to participate in the program in person, starting from day one and for its full duration and you are required to work from the office 4 days a week.
What we Value
Keen understanding in Finance, knowledge of Prime Services, Agency Lending and repo preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confident self-starter who can work under pressure using their own initiative, with the drive to work to aggressive deadlines and to see tasks through to completion
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to distil and summarize large amounts of information to highlight key concepts and present these to a variety of audiences
Ability to proactively prioritize workload and manage own time effectively
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work to deadlines
Strong business analytical skills, ability to use excel and other technology platforms to analyze data sets to formulate business cases
Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and VISIO
Intellectual curiosity, creativity and a willingness to challenge status quo
Education & Preferred Qualifications
A minimum 2.1 honours degree or equivalent (predicted)
Undergraduates in the penultimate year of degree in one of the following areas: Economics, Finance, or Mathematics
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
To apply you must be an undergraduate who is eligible to work in the UK and able to start your placement in early June 2026 and remain in the position for 12 months. You must be intending to return to university to finish your degree after the placement.
